State Government Supply Chain

In my role as the Director of Preparedness and Response for the Utah Department of Health, I oversee the implementation of the ASPR HPP, CDC PHEP, and various special projects (Zika, Ebola, Opioids). In this role, I maintain a statewide vision of planning, organization, equipping, training, and exercising for all program areas, including burn surge readiness and response. I am also a member of the state EMSC committee, which works to link the efforts of preparedness and EMS into a well-coordinated system. In my work with other state partners, I am closely aligned with Region VIII states (UT, MT, WY, ND, SD, CO) and also Region VII state (IA, NE, KS, MO) through our preparedness Heartland Planning Coalition. Finally, I have been engaged in national projects over the past decade, including the CDC-ORAU Planning Workshop for Addressing Pediatric Surge, ASPR TRACIE subject matter expert, Healthcare Coalition Response Leadership instructor at Center for Domestic Preparedness, and others.
Ms. Ehnert serves as the Bureau Chief for Public Health Emergency Preparedness for the Department of Health Services. The Bureau is responsible for program oversight and planning activities for Tribes, County Public Health, and health care partners in the state.
Ms. Ehnert is responsible for conducting a broad scope of operational and or program-specific analyses of policies, procedures, and operations for the purpose of implementing statewide plans.
Additionally, she serves as the health lead within the State Emergency Operations Center.
Ms. Ehnert has been with the Department of Health Services for 15 years, she also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, golfing and swimming.
Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program (PHEP) and Medical Countermeasures Program Manager. I also serve on the State Logistics Team and Vaccination Planning Team for the COVID response.
